Solana (SOL) wished its community a “Happy Solana Solstice” Day.
The word, “Solstice” means “the longest and shortest days of the year.”
“Happy Solana Solstice” Day is celebrated by Solana as the ecosystem marks the close of 2021. Therefore, the company believed that it’s a great time to look back and see just how far they have come facing the longest and shortest days of the year.

- Solana sharing the highlights of Solana Year 2021 with its community mentioned that there were only 360 global validators in January when the Solana network was still new. Now the number reaches 1,331.
- The Solana ecosystem is thriving, as the number of projects in the Solana ecosystem jumped from 70 to 5,145 since January.
- Till now, more than 5 million total NFTs have been minted on Solana, whereas in January there was not even a single NFTs on its platform. Metaplex, launched its first-ever NFTs on the Solana ecosystem, following the explosion of NFTs.
- The company is proud to share that Solana has $11.4b total value locked — with $1.6b of that in stake pools, as of today compared to January when total value locked was equal to only $100m.
- The total number of transactions increased from 10,000,000,000 to 45,500,750,478 from January to this year-end.
All in all, the Solana community has taken off in 2021 — and the company sees next year to be even better.
